Tip of the day
Do not throw away the surplus water after the chana dal has been cooked for preparing puran poli. Grind one or two cloves,1/2 tsp cumin seeds,1 ΒΌ tbsp grated coconut. Add to the chana dal water. Also add a little tamarind water. It makes a delicious soup.
